Raw banana finger fry \ Raw banana fries

Raw banana is one of my favorite vegetable. I tried different dishes using raw banana. Raw banana koftha balls, raw banana fry, raw banana puttu.. Adding to these dishes, today I tried finger fries using raw banana. It was so amazing and my hubby said, instead of making fish fry, we can make this raw banana fries. It is so nice.
I made this fry after blanch the raw banana pieces with turmeric powder and salt mixed hot water. So that we will not get gastric problem. I cut this vegetable in finger shape. Marinate with some interesting ingredients, soak for 20 -25 minutes and then we have to deep fry it. It is so simple and easy preparation that everyone likes it. Let's see how to prepare the tasty raw banana finger fries.
Basic information :
Preparation time : 5 Mins
Soak time : 25 Mins
Cooking time : 10 mins
Serve for : 4 Persons
Ingredients :
Raw banana  : 2 Nos
Corn flour : 2 Tsp
Rice flour : 1 Tsp
Besan : 1 Tsp
Turmeric powder : 1/4 Tsp
Cumin powder : 1/2 Tsp
Fennel powder : 1/2 Tsp
Garam masala : 1/2 Tsp
Chilly powder : 1/2 Tsp
Pepper powder : 1/4 Tsp
Ginger garlic paste : 1/2 Tsp
Salt : As needed
Method :
Peel off the raw banana, cut into finger size pieces. Take one bowl of water, boil it, put the cut banana pieces in boiling water adding turmeric powder and salt for 3 minutes. After 3 minutes, drain the hot water.
In a bowl, take corn flour, rice flour, besan (gram flour or chickpea flour ), cumin powder, fennel powder, garam masala powder, chilly powder, pepper powder, ginger garlic paste, salt.
Mix all the ingredients and marinate with drained banana. Soak for 20-25 minutes.
Heat oil in a frying pan, deep fry the marinated banana fingers in medium flame.
Hmmm.. It is ready to serve hot.. We can have as snacks or side dish for sambar rice.

Mushroom pepper masala / Mushroom gravy

Mushroom is one of my favorite food item. I prepare many dishes using mushroom. It can be prepared as dry and gravy type. Today i tried mushroom with pepper masala. I already done mushroom pepper dry fry. But when we prepare as gravy type, we can have as side dish for North Indian tiffins like chappathy, roti, naan, and South Indian tiffin items like idly, dosa.It is very tasty and very easy to prepare. For preparing this gravy, we need to saute some ingredients to grind. We have to add pepper in the final stage only. Because, overcook the pepper cause bitterness to the gravy. I made this gravy with button mushrooms. It has a lot of health benefits.

Basic information :
Preparation time : 10 Mins
Cooking time : 15 Mins
Serve for : 2 Persons
Ingredients :
Mushroom : 1 Pack
Turmeric powder : 1/4 Tsp
Salt : To taste
Oil : 2 Tsp
Pepper powder : 2 Tsp
Curry leaves : 10 Nos
For grind :
Sambar onion : 100 Grm
Red chilly : 1 No
Chopped ginger : 1 Tsp
Garlic : 5 Pcs
Cumin seeds : 1 Tsp
Fennel seeds : 1 Tsp
Method :
Clean mushroom add in the hot water for blanch.

After 3 minutes, drain the hot water and bring it in cold running water for cool down. This will make mushroom more softer and it will cook very fast.
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, fennel seeds. After seeds pop, add chopped sambar onion, 1 red chilly, chopped ginger, garlic and saute till onion turn golden brown.
After getting cool, grind the onion mix nicely.
Heat oil in another pan, add curry leaves, washed mushroom and stir.

Add ground onion paste, turmeric powder, salt and little water. No need to add more water, as mushroom has a lot of water content itself. Close the pan with a lid and wait for mushroom cooked.
After mushroom cooked and raw smell goes, add pepper powder and stir.
Mushroom pepper masala is ready to serve hot with your favorite tiffin items.

Banana Paniyaram / Sweet paniyaram / Sweet Paddu

One of my favorite dish Sweet paniyaram. In sweet paniyaram, adding more taste, I added banana, cardamon powder, dry ginger powder, ghee fried coconut pieces. I prepared this paniyaram with ghee. It will be very tasty and it can have as morning breakfast or evening tea time snack. Or we can have at brunch time. We no need any side for this. Very tasty, delicious recipe that every kids like this because of this sweetness.
For making this, we need very less ingredients and it is very good for our health. I am using jaggery for sweetness. If we add black jaggery, it will be more healthy. For the batter, I used only raw rice and dry methi seeds called fenugreek. This seeds reduce our body's heat. Jaggery and dry ginger powder helps to clean our blood. So this is very healthy and tasty snack item. Come let's go for the preparation of Banana paniyaram.
Basic information :
Soaking time : 1 Hr
Foaming time : 5-6 Hrs
Cooking time : 5 Mins
Serve for : 5 Persons
Ingredients :
Raw rice : 1/2 Kg
Methi seeds : 2 Tsp
Jaggery : 1/4 Kg
Cardamon powder : 1/2 Tsp
Dry ginger powder : 1/2 Tsp
Salt : 1 Pinch
Coconut pieces : 1/2 Cup
Ghee : As needed
Method :
Wash raw rice and soak in clean water with adding dry methi seeds for about 1-2 hours.
After that grind as Idly batter. The batter should be thick in consistency. Leave the batter for minimum 5-6 hours for foaming.

After the batter foamed, Smash ripe banana and mix it with the batter.

Shred cardamon and dry ginger as coarse powder.

Add the powder into the jaggery powder.
Add 1/4 glass of water in powdered jaggery  and bring it to boil. When the jaggery dissolves switch off the flame.

Drain the jaggery water in the batter. Add a pinch of salt and mix it well.
Heat ghee in a pan, fry the chopped coconut pieces till it comes golden brown.

Mix it with the batter.
Heat paniyaram tava, add ghee, pour little amount of batter. It will become fluffy. Close the pan with the lid.

After 2 minutes open the lid and turn back the paniyaram. Cook for 1 minute.

Yummy!.. sweet banana paniyaram is ready to serve hot.

Dry fruits Laddu / Sugarless laddu / Healthy snacks for kids

Healthy...Healthy...Tasty...Tasty...All the mothers definitely will think about the kid's healthy snacks. Here... the marvelous snack item made with dry fruits. It is so delicious and every kid will definitely like it. Morning, when school going time, most of the kids will never have breakfast. We can give this laddu for them. It is very healthy and the whole day the kids will be active.
My daughter doesn't like dates. I am using dates in this laddu. She is eating without any fuss. I was very happy and excited. I used seedless dates, cashews, almonds, and raisins. We can add pista also. It is very simple and easy preparation. With less and healthy ingredients, making sweet and excellent  laddu recipe without sugar. I am very glad to share this recipe to all. Let us see how to prepare the interesting sweet laddu.

Dry fruits and Nuts are having amazing health benefits. They improves hemoglobin level in our body, hence, It prevents anemia. We are adding less amount of ghee in this laddu. Ingredients :
Dates : 250 Grm
Cashew nut : 50 Grm
Almonds : 50 Grm
Raisins : 5 Nos
Cardamon powder : 1/4 Tsp
Ghee : 2 Tsp

Method :
Grind the seedless dates roughly.
Fine chop the cashews, almonds. We can make coarse  powder also.
In a pan, heat 2 teaspoon of ghee, add raisins and fry.
Add chopped or coarse powdered cashews and almonds and stir.
Add ground dates and mix it well. Stir till the dates melts. When dates melts, it will be sticky. Add cardamon powder and mix.
Switch off the flame, make medium size balls in hand holding heat itself. We can make laddu in heat only.
Exellent!...The laddu is ready to eat. We can store in air tight container for 1 month in dry place.

Mushroom Tikka / Mushroom tikka in tawa / Tawa tikka

Mushroom tikka prepared in tawa. Without ovan, i prepared this tikka. It is very tasty and easy to prepare. Normally for chicken tikka, we used to marinate and refrigerate for about 5-6 hours. But for mushroom tikka, I marinate the mushroom and kept only 20 minutes.  After that I fried in tawa. Because mushroom is having a lot of moisture in it. It will capture the masala quickly.  It is a very good starter or appetizer. It was so nice and tasty.
I used button mushrooms, capsicum and onion dices. We can be prepare without onion and capsicum and only with button mushrooms. We can also use colorful capsicums.

Basic information :
Preparation time : 5 Mins
Soak time : 20 Mins
Cooking time : 10 Mins
Ingredients :
Mushroom  : 2 Packs
Thick curd : 1/2 Cup
Turmeric powder : 1/4 Tsp
Cumin powder : 1/2 Tsp
Fennel powder : 1/2 Tsp
Garam masala : 1/2 Tsp
Chilly powder : 1/2 Tsp
Ginger garlic paste : 1 Tsp
Salt : To taste
Oil : 2 Tsp
Skewers : 5 Nos
Method : 
Clean the mushrooms and blanch in hot water.

In a bowl, take thick curd. Add all the masala powders, ginger garlic paste, salt and mix it well.


Mix washed mushrooms, capsicum and onion dices with the curd mix. Refrigerate 20 to 25 minutes.

Take water dipped skewers, arrange marinated capsicum, mushroom, onion alternatively.

Heat oil in a frying pan, fry the arranged mushroom with skewers in low flame.

Turn the skewers side by side. Fry till it done.

Wow!.. The tasty wonderful mushroom tikka is ready to serve with hot.
