Chicken Manchurian

Manchurian is one of my favorite dish. Whenever i am going to any restaurant, i will order only variety of Manchurian. Chicken Manchurian is the tasty dish which i like the most. i have tried in vegetables Veg-Manchurian. No, i tried with chicken. Yummy, it is very tasty and colorful. i am happy to share this recipe to you all. Hope you all like it and you will try. Let us see how to prepare the tasty "Chicken Manchurian ".
Basic information :
Preparation time : 10 Mins
Cooking time : 15 Mins
Serve for : 4 Persons
Ingredients :
For marinate :
Boneless Chicken : 1/2 Kg
Ginger paste : 1/2 Tsp
Garlic paste : 1/2 Tsp
Chilly powder : 1 Tsp
Turmeric powder : 1/4 Tsp
Corn flour : 1 Tsp
Rice flour : 1/2 Tsp
Salt : 1 Tsp
For saute :
Chopped onion : 1 Cup
Curry leaves : Few
Tomato sauce : 2 Tsp
Soya sauce : 1 Tsp
Capsicum : 1/2 No
Cornflour paste : 1/4 Cup
Method :
 Wash the chicken pieces with turmeric powder and marinate with the marinate ingredients and soak for at-least 30 minutes.
After soaked well, deep fry the chicken pieces.
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, chopped onions and saute well.
Add tomato sauce, soya sauce and chopped capsicum.
Add cornflour paste (mix with water) and add some water and keep it medium flame till it thickens.
After getting good consistency, transfer to the serving plate, garnish with spring onions and 1 pinch of white sesame seeds. Ya.. It is ready to serve now.

Potato recipe - Potato lahori / Aloo Lahori

Preparing aloo in different style is every body's favorite. I already made potato stir fry, potato finger chips, potato simple fry, potato masala. Now, i tried a new version with aloo ,called Aloo lahori. It is something different from the original version. I made this potato fry with curd gravy. I am not adding white cream or kasuri methi and saffron. If we want, we can add all these. It is very tasty. When i prepared first time, i made with more spicy. So second time, i adjust the spiciness. let us see how to prepare the tasty Aloo lahori.
Basic information :
Preparation time  : 15 Mins
Cooking time : 15 Mins
Serve for : 3 Persons
Ingredients :
For grind :
Onion : 1 Big no
Green chilly : 4 Nos
Ginger : 1 Inch
Garlic : 5 Cloves
For curry :
Potato : 4 Nos
Cumin powder : 1/2 Tsp
Garam masala : 1/2 Tsp
Pepper powder : 1/2 Tsp
Salt : To taste
Spring onions : Few
Curd : 1 Cup
Milk : 1/2 Glass
Method :
Boil the potato, peel off and cube it.
Heat oil in a pan, make stir fry little the cubed potatoes.
Grind the ingredients that is under for grind heading.
Heat oil in a pan, add ground paste and saute well. Add cumin powder, pepper powder, garam masala powder and salt.
Add fried potatoes. After mixed well, add 1 cup of thick or hung curd or yogurt and mix it well.
Finally, add 1/2 a glass of thick milk and transfer to the serving dish. Garnish with chopped spring onions.

peanut chutney

When we are making south Indian breakfasts, our only confusion is, what chutney will prepare. Today, i prepared peanut chutney for dosa. This chutney goes with Lemon rice or  Tamarind rice (Puliogare). This gives different taste from normal chutneys. Quick method of preparation also. Simple chutney that everyone likes. Let us see how to prepare the tasty "Peanut chutney".
Basic information :
Preparation time : 10 Mins
Serve for : 4 Persons
Ingredients :

Peanut : 1/2 Bowl
Grated coconut : 1 Cup
Red chilly : 5 Nos
Tamarind : Small ball
Garlic : 4 Cloves
Curry leaves : Few
Salt : To taste
Method :
Dry fry the peanut and keep it aside. If you are using fried peanut , don't want to fry.
Heat oil in pan, add grated coconut, red chilly, curry leave, garlic and fry.
After fried well, allow it to cool. Then add tamarind, salt, fried peanut and grind with little water as chutney.
That's it!.. the chutney is ready to serve.
Try this tasty chutney and enjoy the difference.

Sambhar with Spring onions / Spring onion sambhar

Sambhar is the famous South Indian recipe. I already posted Drumstick,Brinjal sambhar. Today, i tried sambhar with using spring onions. It came very well and it taste is very good. Also using spring onion is helpful to getting more health benefits.
Health benefits :
Spring onions are rich in Vitamins, Proteins. The vitamin C and K in this onion, helps to get a strong bones. We can refer this green onion for the persons who are suffering from bone fractures. Vitamin A and C are having a lot of anti-oxidant properties. It helps to decrease the risk of heart deceases and it prevent high blood pressure. The proteins in this onion helps to have good eye sight. Also it helps to increase the immune power of our body. Spring onion is gluten free vegetable.
Basic information : 
Preparation time : 10 Mins
Cooking time : 15 Mins
Serve for : 4 Persons
Ingredients :
Toor dal : 100 Gm
Asafoetida : small pc
Turmeric powder : 1/2 Tsp
Oil : 3 Tsp
Mustard seeds : 1/2 Tsp
Cumin seeds : 1/2 Tsp
Methy seeds : 1/4 Tsp
Spring onion : Few
Sambhar onion : 6 Nos
Curry leaves : Few
Tomato : 1 No
Tamarind paste : 1/2 Cup
Sambar powder : 1 1/2 Tsp
Salt : To taste
Method :
Rinse the toor dal well and pressure coo it with adding small piece of asafoetida, turmeric powder and 1/4 teaspoon of oil by leaving 3 whistles then transfer to the pot. 
Cut the spring onion in medium sizes. Slice it's root onion. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, methy seeds. After the seeds spluttered, add  sliced onion, curry leaves and saute well.
Add chopped tomato and saute.
Add chopped spring onions.
After saute well, add it in to the  cooked dal. Add sambhar powder, tamarind paste, salt and allow it to boil till the raw smell goes.
After the raw smell gone, transfer to the serving dish and serve hot with hot rice or with any south Indian tiffins.

Sesame seed laddu / Ellu urundai - Ganesha chathurthy special recipe

Sesame seed is the favorite for the Lord Ganesha. Every year, my mother used to prepare this delicious sweet and i like the most. This time, i tried and it came very well. My husband and my kid liked very much. This is very simple recipe which can be prepared within 10 minutes. Some persons will grind the fried sesame seeds well as powder. But i am grinding partially. I am adding fried peanut also for getting more taste. This is one of the important recipe in Ganesha chathurthy festival. Let us prepare the delicious Ellu laddu.
Basic information :
Preparation time : 10 Mins
Quantity : 15 Nos
Ingredients :
Sesame seeds : 100 Gm
Jaggery : 1/4 Kg
Peanut : 1 Tsp
Method :
Grind the jaggery as powder.
Fry 1 teaspoon of peanut and keep it aside.
Fry black sesame seeds well.
After getting cool, grind fried peanut and sesame seeds partially one by one and mix with ground jaggery.
Mix well with hand and make lemon size balls. (If the mixer is very dry, we can add 1 drop of water).
After making balls, we can keep it in air tight container and we can keep it for 4-5 days in room temperature or transfer to the serving plate and serve.

Kozhukattai (modak) recipes - Ganesha chathurthy special Kozhukattai (3 Types)

Ganesha chathurthy special Kozhukattai made with rice flour and two different types of stuffing (poornam). It is very tasty festive recipe. I learnt from my mother. I am preparing two types of stuffing. One is made with coconut and another one is boiled chana dal. Two stuffing are very tasty. I am preparing one more modak prepared with rice flour and jaggery milk. Let us see how to prepare the tasty three verities of Kozhukattai.
Ingredients :
Rice flour : 2 Bowls
Jaggery : 1/2 Kg
Cardamon powder : 2 Tsp
Sesame seeds : 1 Tsp
Coconut pieces : 1 Tsp
Grated coconut : 1 Cup
Salt : 1 Pinch
Method : 
Mix rice flour with hot water and make smooth dough. We can use this dough for two kozhukattai.
Now we can prepare the stuffing.
Coconut stuffing :
Grind the jaggery and heat it in a pan.
After the jaggery melted add grated coconut and cardamon powder, cashew pieces and mix it well. After mixed well, switch off th flame and keep it cool.
Chana dal stuffing :
Rinse the chana dal and pressure cook or pot cook it till its fully cooked. After cooked well, drain the water and make it dry. Grind the cooked and drained chana dal as powder.
 Mix it with ground jaggery powder. Add cardamon powder. If we want, we can add grated coconut also.
Making Kozhukattai :
Knead the rice flour dough well and make lemon size balls. Press the ball with your hand or chapathy roller in round shape. Fill the stuffing over the round.
Close it in shapes we like. i am folding two types for getting the differences between two modaks.
 After making with all the dough bake it in idly pan or momos steamer. After cooked well transfer to the serving plate.
Making pidi kozhukattai :
Mix jaggery in water, boil it till its dissolves. Add cardamon power and drain the jaggery water.
In rice flour, add white or black sesame seeds, coconut pieces and add jaggery water and mix it well to make smooth dough.
Make lemon sized balls in the dough and press it in your hand. That's it the it is ready for steam.
After making in all the balls, steam it well its cooked well. After cooked well, transfer to the serving plate along with the other kozhukattai. All three types of kozhukattai are ready for pooja and eat.

Bread Sandwich roll - Healthy breakfast / Snacks box recipe

This is my daughter's favorite snacks box recipe. Easy and less time to prepare and also very tasty and healthy. I am adding carrots and cucumber in this. We can add any vegetable that we like. For green chutney, i am grinding the chutney partially. We can grind it as paste. If i grind partially only, my daughter likes. That's what i am grinding partially. Let us prepare the healthy, tasty, simple snacks box recipe, "Bread sandwich  roll".
Basic information :
Preparation time : 10 Mins
Serve for : 2 Kids
Ingredients :
Bread : 4 Slices
Grated Carrot : 2 Tsp
Grated cucumber : 2 Tsp
Onion : 1/2 No
For green chutney :
Mint leaves : Few
Coriander leaves : Few
Garlic : 4 Cloves
Green chilly : 1 No
Salt : To taste
Method :
Grind the green chutney.  Saute the onion, carrots and cucumber with adding salt and make it cool.Cut out the crust in bread slices. Using chapathy roller, press and roll over the bread slice.
Spread the green chutney. Put fried carrot mix over the green chutney.
Slowly roll the bread slices and finally press it and transfer to the serving plate or snacks box.
